Requirements for shipping VSV-susceptible species to Canada

 

No horses , cattle, sheep, pigs or any other susceptible species may enter Canada from any affected county in Wyoming!

 

1.  Animals should have a NEGATIVE C-ELISA test for vesicular stomatitis virus within 10 days of export to Canada.  If positive, the laboratory may need to run the complement fixation test to clear the animal and allow it to be exported to Canada.  Only test results should to be listed on the Health Certificate.

 

2.  Submit a minimum of 5 ml of serum ONLY for testing.

3.  You can obtain an Import Permit from CFIA: 403 292 5828.  This number is for information only.


4.  The Health Certificate should be issued within 10 days of export.
 

5.  Statement: "The animal(s) is/are clinically free of signs of vesicular stomatitis"
 

6.  Statement: "The animal(s) on this certificate have/have not been on a premises in an affected county or traveled through an affected county within 21 days prior to export.
 

7.  Statement: "The premises of origin is located at least 25 kilometers (15 miiles) from any premises curently under quarantine fro vesicular stomatitis.
 

8.  If the animal is originating outside Wyoming, you only need the statement: "During the previous twenty one (21) days, the anima(s) in this shipment has/have not been in ant state where a premises is under quarantine for vesicular stomatitis on this date.  DO NOT USE THIS STATEMENT FOR ANIMALS ORIGINATING FROM WITHIN WYOMING
